Our Story
It all began with a simple idea, fueled by a deep passion to help people. Particularly, those with limited resources, who have legal matters that do no require a licensed attorney.
Our founder, Michelle Blanton, has seven years experience as a civil law case manager.
- The cases she managed included: Divorces, landlord/tenant disputes and evictions, bankruptcies, wills, name changes, and minor guardianships.
- Other responsibitilites included: client intake, drafting pleadings, drafting and serving witness summons and records subpoenas, drafting Sheriff's Entry of Service, preparing case summaries, research; and finally, establishing and nurturing mutually beneficial relationships with judges. court clerks, opposing counsel, battered women's shelters, law enforcment and other businesses within the community.
Michelle has always been passionate about law, be it civil or criminal and aspired to be an attorney growing up. However, as it sometimes does, life happened and she wasn't able to fulfill that dream. She attended college here-and-there over the years, and has often said she wished she could be a "career student" because she loves learning and the challenges that come with higher-education. If employment skills and education could be combined to earn a degree, she most definitely would have earned a bachelor's degree.
Michelle also has a background in banking, major medical and property and casualty insurance claims and benefits.
